Cora graduated with First Class Honours in Art and Design from the Belfast College of Art 1970. While a student she won several awards including Student of the Year.
Part time work and raising a family prevented Cora from painting until the 1990s. During this time she painted mostly to commission – landscapes, animals, portraits, while continuing to experiment with her collages and mixed media pieces. Cora has painted professionally full-time since 2003.
Public commissions include several from Newry and Mourne Council, N.I. Fire Authority, and Royal Mail. She has exhibited in the Laing National Art Competition, several times reaching the London Finals and won First Prize in the Laing N.I. Region. Cora was awarded the Silver Medal by The A. S.U.
Cora works in a wide range of media and subject matter, moving easily between realism and semi-abstraction. She has exhibited in galleries throughout Ireland, Mall Galleries London and is currently showing in the Taylor Gallery Belfast and Manor Fine Arts, Banbridge. Cora has paintings in public and private collections in Ireland, U.K., Canada, And U. S. A. and S. Africa.
